A bit about Dawn Wilson Handmade, what I do and what is important to me...

Having lived on the North Coast of Cornwall for over 25 years I enjoy some of the most spectacular coastline to be found anywhere in the world. I love living by the coast for its breathtaking landscape as well as the relaxed lifestyle it has to offer. Coupled with a love for fabrics and interiors (and bags of enthusiasm), my journey began...

Like so many others I had been yearning to start my own business for some time - I started small in April 2019 whilst working part-time and was fortunate to be warmly welcomed to a fabulous Craft Fayre in Padstow,  just a few miles along the coast road. By September, encouraged by sales and feedback over the summer, I had made the decision to quit my job. I was feeling fulfilled and what I was doing allowed me the freedom to indulge my passion for Cornwall, textiles and soft furnishings - it felt right!

"Consciously creative" is how my sister and her husband described my products when I first began showing my creations to family and friends...and I liked that. My love of the ocean and natural beauty of the county I feel privileged to live in, make it of paramount importance to me that the items I produce do not adversely affect the environment. The majority of fabrics used are 100% cotton and linen and I support local and British suppliers wherever possible. While the aesthetic qualities of my products are obviously important, I also consider the environmental impact when crafting their design.
